Toast This!

For Benedictine monk Dom Bernado Vincelli, creating an elixir that gave the world a glimpse of heaven was a sacred task.

Dom

And when he developed a recipe for just that in 1510 in Renaissance France, it was jealously guarded. Over the years it evolved to become the complex blend of herbs and spices we know today as Bénédictine DOM. In celebration of its 500th anniversary, a limited edition Black Monk bottle has been released this year, bearing a black cape that pays tribute to the habit worn by the Benedictine monks today as it was 500 years ago. What better occasion is there to raise a toast to Dom Bernado?

Top French mixologist and Bénédictine’s Global Ambassador Ludovic Miazga shares a recipe for DOM Ice Tea, the perfect drink for a hot, humid day:

25 ml Bénédictine

100 ml cold green tea

Green tea powder for garnishing

Fill a chilled stemmed glass or tea cup with crushed ice. Pour in the Bénédictine and cold green tea. Garnish with green tea powder and serve.
